Across the Universe
InstructionsOur project was a space themed board game. We had little space ships as our playing pieces. You can determine the playing order by rolling the dice and seeing who has the highest number. Next the first person rolls the dice and moves his spaceship the number that is shown on the dice. If that player lands on a blank planet it becomes the next players turn. If the player lands on a RxN planet it means they must perform a reaction. If they perform is successfully they can skip a few planets. If the player lands on a back 3 or back 4 planet then they must move back the number that is listed. Also if a player lands on a roll again space they roll again. The first player to get to the finish planet wins.

Our ReactionsFor our board game there are three chances to land on a reaction. The reactions include a single replacement reaction that involves lighting a LED light using aluminum and copper chloride. The next reaction involved creating a soluble solution with Sodium Sulfate and Barium Chloride. Our third and final reaction was to blow up a balloon with carbon bubbles through using Sodium Bicarbonate and Acetic Acid.

Our BlueprintThis is our blueprint with measurements of the actual board game on the sides.

Our Board Game
For this project we were required to make a board game that involved chemical reactions. We decided that we wanted to make our board game space themed. We made the spaces planets and the background is a galaxy. Our board game had many things on them such as reaction spaces and back spaces.

ReflectionIn this project I feel like I contributed a lot to the group. I created the idea for our project and theme. I also helped make the board and come up with some of the rules. I found most of the chemicals and found out how the reactions were supposed to be performed. I learned from this project that I can come up with creative ideas if I think hard enough and that I am a harder worker when we are more pressed for time. I could have worked harder some days and I could have contributed more to the actual making of the board. This pit of our project was the LED light not working and the peak was playing the game during game night.
